The Transition

In 1967, the present four-storey school building was built on the site at 408 Joo Chiat Place. This replaced the old wooden building fronting Lorong J. The new building was officially declared open in 1968. For the first time, girls were admitted to the school and by 1969, the school population had risen to 250.

In 1983, Telok Kurau Malay Girl's School merged with Telok Kurau West School which then amalgamated with Telok Kurau East School in 1985 to become Telok Kurau Primary School as it is known today.

Mr Eugene Tan was appointed the principal. A new school badge was designed and a new motto "Strive for Success" was introduced. A new school song was composed.
